We have once again assembled a selection of the the finest entertainment from around the world to bring you an unparalleled evening of sophistication and elegance in the heart of Washington DC. Celebrate with 5 live bands: Big Band Swing and Ballroom Dance Orchestra, Sin Miedo Latin salsa band, A Jazz ensemble, an Irish band, and a Trinidad-Tobago Island band. Enjoy a stunning balloon drop at midnight, mock casino gambling, free flowing champagne throughout the evening, party favors, a full 5-hour premium open bar, champagne toast at mid-night, gourmet tea and coffee, and first-class white-glove service.

In our Hollywood themed ballroom, our big band orchestra will perform a wonderful selection of waltz, swing, tango, Viennese waltzes, and other ballroom dances for your dancing pleasure on our spacious dance floor!

Our New Year's Eve celebration also includes dancing to music by the Latin band Sin Miedo. From the wild times of 1950's Havana, to the modern hot spots of Argentina and Costa Rica, enjoy salsa, merengue, and samba all night as we bring you the exciting music of a live salsa band with the sounds of Miami! The irresistible sound of the band Sin Miedo will lead your feet to the dance floor for an exciting night of dancing to the energy of Latin sounds!

Also enjoy dancing to our island Caribbean band and Irish band! All this and more await you at our spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration!

About The Venue
Our New Year's Eve gala takes places at the prestigious Wardman park Marriott Hotel, one of Washington's most exquisite hotels, and the venue of choice for many American and international galas, including official Presidential Inaugural Balls. The hotel has played host to hundreds of world leaders, dignitaries and celebrities, and now it is your turn to experience an unforgettable New Year's Eve celebration at this beautiful and spacious hotel with some of the largest ballrooms in the city. We encourage you to reserve your tickets early, as we sold out each of the previous years. Located in a prestigious Washington neighborhood, just minutes from the National Zoo and the Washington Cathedral, the hotel sits on 16 lush acres of flowering plants and meticulously maintained gardens. While away from the congestion of downtown, the Metro is at the doorstep providing easy access.

Rain Date and No Refund Policy for Online Tickets Sold
Together with the hotel and the entertainers we have engaged for the evening, we are all working hard to present to you a spectacular New Year's Eve celebration, regardless of the weather. Please note that the New Year's Eve Gala will be held rain, shine, or snow. Kindly note that by purchasing a ticket, you accept the responsibility to arrive at the hotel for the gala on time. Due to expenses incurred, we are unable to offer refunds in the event you are unable to attend the gala for any reason, including severe winter storms. Purchase of tickets for the gala constitutes your acceptance of our rain date policy and no-refund policy, as all ticket sales are final.

Kindly note that tickets will be released at the admission desk ONLY to the person who purchased the tickets upon presenting photo ID. If you have purchased more than one ticket, please arrive for admission together with your guests. For your security, no tickets will be released unless photo ID is presented matching the name of the person who purchased the tickets.

GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS are $190: Includes: Admission to the ball at 9:00 PM, 8 Internationally Themed Celebration Areas, Top Shelf Open Bar, Dinner and Dessert Buffet representing the culture and cuisine of 5 vibrant international cities. Midnight Champagne Toast, Spectacular Midnight Balloon Drop, 4 Live Bands, DJs spinning international club hits, Karaoke, Mock Casino Gambling, and Party Favors.

Please note that dinner is served until 10:10 PM with desserts served after that.

VIP TICKETS are $250: In addition to general admission benefits, VIP ticket holders are entitled to early admission to the ball with expedited check-in at 7:30 PM, an intimate VIP reception with champagne and appetizers, and a 3-course sit-down dinner before the Ball. Reserved seating and live jazz music is presented during dinner for the prelude to a magical celebration.

Please be on time and note that the last dinner seating is at 8:10 PM!



10:30 PM Post-Dinner Admission Tickets are $130. This post-dinner late admission ticket option includes sumptuous dessert buffets, 8 separate themed celebration areas, top shelf open bar, midnight champagne toast, spectacular midnight balloon drop, 4 Live Bands, DJs spinning international club hits, karaoke, mock casino gambling, and party favors. Please note that dinner is not included in the 10:30 PM admission tickets.

Overnight Accommodations and Parking
The Wardman Park Marriott Hotel offers well-appointed suites and rooms to help you relax and ring in the New Year in comfort. We have arranged specially discounted rooms for attendees of the gala ($125 for room only or $175 for room with breakfast and self-parking). Self parking is $20 and valet parking is $32. Please note that hotel parking is limited and available on a first-come basis. We recommend a cab or the Metro.

We concluded 2005 with a spectacular New Year's Eve gala at the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel that was attended by over 2,000 attendees, our largest event so far! The event featured food from all five continents, as well as dancing to music by 6 live orchestras.

On a magical winter evening we celebrated an elegant evening of Viennese music, food, wine, and dancing at the magnificent Grand Ballroom of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. 300 ICDC members enjoyed a lavish Viennese dessert buffet after dinner while dancing to the world's beloved waltzes impeccably performed by the Con Brio Orchestra. We've assembled nearly 300 photos of memories and glimpses from the ball and hope you will be a part of the celebration next time!

Anniversary Gala and Masquerade Ball

Our Anniversary Gala and Masquerade Ball was held at the Grand Ballroom of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and was attended by over 400 ICDC members. The evening was a memorable celebration of international music, food, wine, and dancing and featured dancing to a ballroom orchestra as well as a Brazilian band in addition to a delectable dinner and an extravagant dessert buffet.

Embassy of Slovakia Celebration of Art, Culture, Cuisine, and Wine
Friday October 12, 2005

We visited the Embassy of Slovakia for a very special celebration of Slovak culture, art, food, and wine. It was a great opportunity to learn about Slovakia while you meet the embassy staff and other distinguished guests. We discovered the beauty of Slovakia, tasted authentic food prepared by the embassy chef, and tasted some of Slovakia's finest wines. While enjoying an art exhibit by the Slovak American artist Bernard Pracko, we also listened to traditional and contemporary Slovak music.

French Embassy Luau

On a warm summer evening we enjoyed a luau at the Embassy of France. Our luau featured a luau band with dancers, a Latin band, as well as a DJ performing dance music for the rest of the evening. Attendees also enjoyed a luau dinner and tropical drinks while making new friends from around the world.

We celebrated the arrival of springtime in Washington DC with a ball at the Embassy of France featuring the 40-member ensemble of the European Symphony Orchestra as well as dinner catered by the French Embassy chef. We are also pleased to report that we were able to raise nearly $4,000 for KidSave, an organization that finds homes for foster children from around the world.

ICDC members enjoyed a rare oppotrunity to meet the most prominent Austrian winemakers in person while also sampling Austrian food and meeting other internationally-minded prfessionals in town. Winemakers taking part included: Anton Bauer, Leo Hillinger, Gustav Strauss, Martin Mittelbach,  Brigitte and Anna Steininger and Josef Bauer.

We stepped back in time to experience a magical evening at the National Museum of Women in the Arts -- one of the most exquisite venues in Washington DC for an unforgettable Viennese celebration of music, food, wine and dancing. The museum's grand Renaissance Revival building and the elegant grand ballroom and Mezzanine provided the perfect setting to bring to life the timeless elegance of a Viennese Ball, as experienced in Vienna.

It was also a wonderful opportunity to meet other internationally-minded professionals in DC as well as members of the diplomatic community while enjoying an elegant embassy reception.

First Anniversary Masquerade Ball at the Embassy of France

Our Fall Gala and Masquerade Ball at the Embassy of France was a memorable celebration of music, wine, food, and dancing as we commemorated the 1st anniversary of the International Club of DC and the 59th anniversary of the United Nations. The evening featured dancing to two live bands representing the music of three continents and it was also an opportunity to meet international professionals in town. Attendees were welcomed to the embassy by the French Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Jean-David Levitte.

The Swiss jazz band "The Sam Burckhardt Trio"performed for us at the Embassy of Switzerland while they were in town for a 3-night engagement. The reception included a variety of Swiss hors d’oeuvres along with Swiss and Californian wine.

Holiday Gala At the Washington National Cathedral

We celebrated the holidays at an elegant gala of music, food, and dancing at the Washington National Cathedral, one of the most majestic venues in Washington DC. The gala also included docent led private tours of the cathedral and was a rare opportunity to spend an evening at the top of the Cathedral surrounded by amazing twilight lit 360 degree views of Washington, D.C.
