Last
time we
hiked the Billy Goat Trail and discovered the
Maryland side of Great Falls National Park.
This time, we discovered the Virginia
side of Great falls for a different perspective
of this hidden gem of a National Park just
minutes from DC. At Great
Falls, the Potomac River plunges seventy-six
feet through a deep gorge creating a series
of scenic waterfalls. We also experienced
the emergence of cicadas -- a once every 17
year phenomena. After the hike, we enjoyed
a relaxing picnic before heading
back home.
