Event Details

The 10th annual Champagne Tasting at the Embassy of France is fast approaching. Join us on Saturday, November 7 for this dazzling, elegant and “effervescent” soirée! The International Club of DC cordially requests the pleasure of your company for a Champagne Tasting featuring France's most prestigious Champagnes along with cuisine from some of Washington's most talented chefs.

Your evening will feature indulging in the finest champagnes that the eponymous French region has to offer. The soirée will include a silent auction, with donations from some of the area's most prestigious restaurants and boutiques. Also featured will be chefs from various well-known local restaurants, who will present a sampling of their own creations to accompany the evening's delights.

This fundraiser will help support the various activities of the French-American Cultural Foundation and La Maison Française. The Foundation sponsors French music and theatre series, La Cinémathèque, and French-American cultural exchanges including an Artisan Scholarship Program.

The event is organized as a festival of champagne and French cuisine. As such there are many facets to the evening and the evening is planned so that you can mingle and walk inside the embassy to discover and celebrate French culture and cuisine. Kindly note that the event is not organized as a sit-down function but rather as a cocktail reception.

ginger salad (v), jumbo lump crabmeat salad, tuna sashimi with truffle aioli, smoked salmon, pork spring rolls, scallop/pineapple and bacon brochette, kawswe noodles (v), Randal Lineback veal terrine with warm mushroom ragout, braised pork belly served with lentils and miso sauce, pumpkin pie foie gras, strawberry tiramisu, patisseries, cheesecake lollipops, and much, much more!!!

General Admission tickets include admission to the main soirée from 7 to 10 p.m. at La Maison Française. VIP Tickets include admission to the main soirée from 7 to 10 p.m. at La Maison Française, and to a special “fin de soirée” from 9:30 p.m. to midnight at Napoleon Bistro Lounge for Benefactor Ticket-holders.

Due to security considerations at the embassy, we are unable to accept walk-ins. You must reserve a ticket in advance to attend this event.

General Admission tickets are $125 for a limited time and includes admission to the main soirée from 7 to 10 p.m. at La Maison Française.

VIP Benefactor Tickets are $150 and includes admission to the main soirée from 7 to 10 p.m. at La Maison Française, and to a special “fin de soirée” from 9:30 p.m. to midnight at venue to be announced.
