Watch a memorable sunset, relax & discover nature along the Potomac Event Details We regret to inform that due to circumstances (thunder storms) beyond our control, we have postponed the kayaking session that was scheduled for Sunday evening. Your safety is of our paramount concern and we didn’t want to risk any of our members being on the middle of the river holding onto metal paddles with the impending arrival of a storm with lightning. We made this decision in the best interest of your safety and apologize for any inconvenience. Though there is a possibility the weather system may move away we just didn’t want to gamble with your safety (especially with the likelihood of stray lightning). Pursuant to the terms of the rain date policy posted on the event description, your ticket is transferable to attend any future kayaking session. We have kayaking sessions scheduled for Sunday August 15 and Sunday September 26. You can alternatively transfer your ticket to attend the sunset margarita cruise scheduled for Friday August 13.  Otherwise we would be glad to retain a credit that you can use towards attending a future ICDC event. We have the perfect conclusion for an unforgettable weekend. We have timed one of our popular sunset kayaking sessions to coincide with moonlight to make the experience even more spectacular as you join us for a memorable evening of kayaking on the Potomac River. Catch the orange colored sun setting for the first half of the trip and the Washington Monument under soft white lights for the last half.  After the sunset, watch the moon rise above the sky to illuminate the Potomac River and the monuments. Experiencing nature from a canoe or kayak on the Potomac River in DC, while you gently glide just inches from the water is truly an unforgettable experience. During the kayaking session you will observe birds, turtles and other wildlife along the banks of the river. Our kayaking events are very popular and sell out in advance. Please reserve your tickets early. A tour and safety guide will be provided. Please bring a flash light with you when you arrive.
